re-shoots for the final

While editing, we found some problems. I saw that we need more shots that we forgot to film. We need it to make the film make more sense. We also found out that school was being canceled all next week. I said we should all meet up over this break that was happening. We scheduled for Wednesday. Everyone agreed that it was a good day to meet up. I said that it would be better for us all to meet up instead of editing individually. Then we can use all of our ideas together. We will make sure when we meet up, we won't get sick. There is a virus going around that is world wide. It is getting everyone sick and to be safe we have some ideas. We won't touch anything on the way that we don't know if it has the virus. We will be careful not to be near anyone that is sick. When we do meet up, we will mostly edit. We will film like one or two shots however so we can add that. We will add them in and probably cut other clips. I said we can do it at my house. It will be best for us because we can film the shot at the same location and not have to move. This is the shot we will re-shoot.

Editing the final

As I have said last time, we finished our filming. We had some reshoots and more film to work with. What we did was dump all of this and put it in the editing software. We are using pinnacle studios. We have used this before and it has worked. We used it for our commercial and music video and both looked pretty good. We saw some transitions that we liked and added them. Our video was very long and over the limit. I trimmed each clip to where we wanted it to be originally, but it was still too long. I cut a clip of it out that we didn’t really need. Without it, we still had a comprehensive video and it was just under the maximum length. In some areas, we had to raise the volume so everyone could hear properly. This was difficult figuring out but it ended up working. I was the one to lay out the videos in the right order. I also was the one to make sure that it was the final cut and not a mistake. We have not added our titles yet but we will add them soon. I have the video at home and can do everything online. I say this just in case that a nasty bug that is going around doesn’t postpone our plans. We are doing the rest of our editing next week. This is a picture of one of the shots we had to retake many times.

Finishing filming for final

We finished all of our filming a week ago. I played one of the main characters. We changed this role to me after we realized that I was a better actor. We had to redo some shots due to this but in the end it worked more. I acted pretty nice and people saw that me and Trent had different perspectives. It could have easily have been too similar but we stayed different. We had a car this time which meant we could finish the film. We filmed some at the park near my house. I gave the killer a screwdriver as a weapon. It made it feel more realistic. We saw a pretty cool stick that looked pretty dangerous we used that instead. We had our friend drive us around. I called him and asked because none of us in the group had a car or a license. He was a safe driver and he didn’t do anything bad. He was also in the AICE media class as well as us. I gave everyone drinks too. After they all were empty, we used them as props. We are editing this week. We will add titles and cool transitions. This is a picture of one of our shots we filmed.

Peer review

Today in class, we did a peer review on our final project/video.

Before the peer review, our group filmed, re shot, and edited. The video that we produced was not the final product, however. We plan on making more changes editing wise, as well as adding more titles to the film. I do not think a re shoot is needed.

The group that we graded had a great film. It was about a girl that wakes up in a simulation. She comes home and passes out, and then it switches to her in a training ground. The group was able to fill almost all of the criteria. I hope that our group can learn some things from the group that we peer reviewed, and implement it into our own film.

As well as peer reviewing another group, we had our video peer reviewed. Most of the comments were positive, but some were not. I have learned what we need to change and put into our film. One of the things being titles. Things such as "edited by" and "filmed by" were missing in our film. Our group will definitely be able to put these things into our film by the time it is due.

I am glad we had the ability to experience peer reviewing. It has helped me see what our group is doing good in, and what we are lacking in. I plan on going home and changing the video transitions. I will also add the title slides, and some eerie music.
